Frequently Asked Questions
Tell me more about the prints
With the exception of a few older photographs, all prints are made from very high resolution files that have been carefully processed for the highest printing standards. The prints are processed by a professional lab renowned for its outstanding and consistent quality. This means you will receive images that are accurate in their colour and sharpness, and that will last a very long time. A print guarantee is also included: if you are not satisfied with your prints, you will quickly be refunded or sent a new set of prints.
How are photos organized on the site?
At the highest level of image hierarchy, we have the
Portfolio, which is simply a selection of the best images found in the much more extensive
Stock section. Visitors can search pictures in the galleries either by location, by sport or by theme. For a gallery search based on location, select
Destination Snapshots. For a gallery based on a specific sport, choose
Active Adventure. If you would rather pick a theme, click
Around the World,
Rocky Mountains of Canada or
Sepia and Night Photography. Not finding what you are looking for?
Contact me as I would love to be able to get the shot you need. I specialize in getting to those hard-to-reach places in less than ideal conditions and I know the Canadian Rockies particularly well.

For editing and displaying purposes, I use:
- Photoshop CS4

How did you put this website together?
I used
SmugMug, a great photo sharing service that I would recommend to photographers of all levels. Membership starts at about $40/year but I would suggest it is worth it over any of the free alternatives. SmugMug is the best photo sharing service out there in my opinion and I encourage anyone who is into photography to check it out. Everything is extremely user-friendly, the support is legendary and you can try it for two weeks for free before making a decision. Use this coupon to save $5 on your membership if you decide on joining: BbraTCWftpNCs.
How do you go about obtaining your sports images?
I shoot in the moment. The pictures I take are rarely planned, which I believe gives them a raw, natural look that is hard to replicate when staging shots. To achieve that, I will be doing the activity myself, whether it be mountaineering or hiking, while remaining ready to capture images at any moment. I believe the unsettled nature of the wilderness lends itself to such spontaneous photography.
